The Rehearsal timing is saved with the Slide Transition. When you View the Slide Sorter, you will see the timing for each slide. Timing Is Everything As a rule of thumb, each slide should take 15-30 seconds to read or speak.   If a slide requires several minutes then there’s too much on the screen and your audience will wander off. We are the TV generation: looking for quick, entertaining information.   Try it: Rehearse your presentation Go to the Slide Show Ribbon Click on Rehearse Timings. PowerPoint starts the timer.   Use the Action buttons on the Rehearsal toolbar and go through your slides as you practice your speech.   If you want to start over, click on the repeat arrow to reset the timer for that slide and try again.
