The Domain Name
Server (DNS) is the server that has the authority to provide the
correct list of the
Domain names, matched with their unique IP
addresses.
The DNS in this example is bay.chartermi.net. That domain
has two IP addresses. The first one is: 24.247.24.53.
My computer is
also identified. There is a description of my Realtek Network
adaptor card. Each network card has its own physical address. It
is like the Vehicle Identification Number in a car. That's how your
machine can be located on a network.
