Start -> Network -> Network And Sharing Center Confirm the Network Status Are you on the Internet? The Network and Sharing Center displays information about your LAN, as well as options for managing the Internet connection.   Try it: Go to Start -> Network -> Network And Sharing Center.   You should see a diagram showing your computer, the Network, and the Internet. Look for Connection and then click on View Status.
