Turn
everything off. You will probably restart the system in this order: 1. Turn on the
cable modem, first. The cable modem will communicate with the DNS server
at cable company and get a new IP address. 2. Turn on you
computer. When your computer reboots, it automatically requests an IP
address from the cable modem, or renews the lease it has. 3. Test the
Internet connectivity. Open a browser and determine if you can see a web
page. If everything
on your LAN is working, but you still cannot connect to the Internet,
you may have to call your Internet Cable provider. Sometimes, the modem
needs to be reset by the Cable company. Computers,
sometimes we love 'em. Sometimes, we don't. ;-)
