Email Viruses
With the
tremendous growth of the Internet, viruses can travel around the world
in hours, now.
Many viruses come as
attachments to
email messages. As
soon as you double click on the attachment to open it, you’re
infected. Viruses can insert themselves into your programs, rendering
them useless.
Most viruses compromise computers by the volume of their replication.
They can fill up a hard drive or usurp your available memory. Often, a
virus will carry a destructive payload: a second virus that does more
damage.
Most viruses don't want to kill the infected, host
machine. The goal is to use the machine as a Zombie.
