Make It Secure

The Windows Security Center provides a link to the Internet Properties. There is another link from the Internet Explorer, too. Security is divided into four Zones:
1. Internet
2. Local Intranet
3. Trusted Zones
4. Restricted Zones

A medium setting for the Internet Zone allows you to browse web sites, but blocks web sites from running Java scripts or ActiveX code without your permission.

Trusted sites is a method for creating a “white list” of sites that are approved for use at your home or business. Placing addresses in the Restricted zone makes a “black list” of sites that download harmful spyware and pests, such as many music sites.

Remember to test your changes. Some sites, such as Microsoft Hotmail, will not let you log in if the security is set too high.
