Input Mask Wizard, continued

Last, Store the Data

The next question demands some thought. Do you want to save the mask with the data? By default, the answer is, “no.” Whenever you want to print out the list of phone numbers, you would have to reformat the data to put it in our common format.

However, formatting fields in reports and lists is simple. This is a database that uses phone numbers to search for customers.

Ask yourself: do you want to type the parenthesis, hyphens and spaces? Or just the numbers when you look up a customer?

Accept the Default: Store the data without the symbols in the mask. Click Finish.

The completed Input Mask is pictured on the right. That's the code you wrote with the Input Mask Wizard.
