What Are Your User Rights?
Windows
Vista, XP, Windows NT and 2000, have several predefined User
Groups: Administrator, Power Users, and Users. This information can
be found in the Computer Management Console.
Administrators have complete and unrestricted access to the
computer and/or the Domain. Administrators have the right to Add or
Remove programs, download software patches, change settings and
defaults.
Power
Users have most of the administrative options. Power Users can
run legacy applications, such as most older accounting programs, in
addition to certified applications.
Limited Users
are the most restricted. Users are prevented from making accidental
or intentional system-wide changes. Users can run certified
applications, but not most legacy applications.
