Account Types
Windows
Vista has two default user types:
Administrator and Standard.
Choose
to be a Standard user. That means you cannot install
software or add games. It also means that hackers or invaders are
limited in the amount of damage they can do. Anyone who accesses
your computer is restricted to the same rules as you are.
Do not
log on as Administrator!
In a small
office/home office that’s on the Internet, you should log in as a
Standard User for your everyday work. Save the Administrator logon
for once-in-a-blue-moon upgrades.
