Policies and Security
As a user, you can change Windows with the
options in the Control
Panel. If the text is too tiny on the screen, use the Control Panel
to change the Display. Windows
remembers that you like large fonts.
Windows saves your choices in
the Windows Registry. In this example, your Display preferences were saved in H_Key Current User and H_Key local machine.
System
policies limit a user’s right to change the computer. It is a
matter of security. Policies
can also prevent users from installing software.
Security
comes down to this:
1) Who are you?
2) What can you do on this machine?
3) What can you use on the network?
