Observation is a perceptual strategy.
An experienced computer trainer offers topical commentary about
how and why things work.
For example, The
Complete Compute Guides
present the difference in actions (left mouse
click) and options (right mouse click).
In Excel, the instructor might create a simple spreadsheet and
test the
auto-fill function. The left mouse action extends the series incrementally
while the right mouse offers series options.
In another exercise, the Guide
points out that inserting a picture will move all of the text to the next
page. These observations help students understand that their text was not
“lost.”
