Notation uses menu commands to form “sentences.” For
example, the Copy command groups together four actions: 1) place the cursor
by the text, 2) hold your left mouse button and drag over the type, 3) go to
the Edit menu and 4) Click on Copy. Grouping these four steps into one word
builds comprehension.[1]
The Computer Mama Guide is a primer for how to write
down and remember the various steps required to create a check book, a
newsletter, or an automated form. The beginning lessons use the commands
available with File, Edit, View and Insert. The intermediate lessons
demonstrate Format, Tools, and Table/Data/Slideshow. The advanced lessons
illustrate the design, development, and automation of complex tasks. No
other computer training organizes the topics in this manner.
