Print a Test Page Printing is controlled by Windows, not Word or Excel.  A computer has to print a test page quickly and reliably from Windows. If you cannot print from Windows, you won’t be able to print out of Word, Excel, or any other program.   Try it: Review the Printer Properties Go to the Printers folder Click on your printer. Go to Select printing preferences Click on Set Printer Properties. Find the General page Click on Print Test Page. Did came out of your printer? If you can read the words, “Congratulations!” you done good. Everything works. ;-) If not, it’s back to square one. Are the cables connected...at BOTH ends? Are the drivers right? Is the printer turned on and ready to print? Start -> Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound ->Printers
