Where Does It Plug In? When you look on the back of the computer it’s usually pretty easy to tell where the mouse plugs in. There is really only one place it can fit in.   PS/2 mice have a round tail, just like the keyboard. You might have to look carefully for a label to make certain you attach it to the right port. The computer MUST be turned off when you add or remove a PS/2 mouse. All new machines have a Universal Serial Bus. USB is a small, metal rectangle.
