Act I, Scene I

Throughout Chapter 17, we have been investigating the links between forms, controls, databases and applications. The goal was to make the process more efficient for your users.

 

You optimized the database with new forms and Microsoft Office automation. You split the database into functional groups: Table and User Interface.

 

The final frontier is to improve the User Interface performance, specifically the Access forms and reports. Access forms are marvelous collections of controls and code. The Computer Mama loves synchronized combo boxes! However, Access forms require a lot of computing power. They can be big and complex hence they eat network bandwidth.
