Act I, Scene I
Throughout Chapter 17, we have been investigating the
links between forms, controls, databases and applications. The goal
was to make the process more efficient for your users.
You optimized the database with new forms and
Microsoft Office automation. You split the database into functional
groups: Table and User Interface.
The final frontier is to improve the User Interface
performance, specifically the Access forms and reports. Access forms
are marvelous collections of controls and code. The Computer Mama
loves synchronized combo boxes! However, Access forms require a lot
of computing power. They can be big and complex hence they eat
network bandwidth.
