Talk to Me

Media players and entertainment are two good reasons to enjoy the sound. Speech recognition is another.  Wouldn’t it be great if we could talk to the computer? Really talk like a person and not… like... a… machine?

A long time ago, the Apple Macintosh could play the Talking Moose. The Moose would read the names of the files and folders as you worked with them. The speech wasn’t always accurate. For instance, when the Moose saw “Clients,” he would say, “Cleee-ants.”

Windows Vista allows you to use the computer without a keyboard or mouse. When you talk, it responds. You just talk naturally: you do not have to pause… between… each… word like Capt. Kirk.
