Power Play: What is a Window?  Page 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8

A Window Is A Window Is A Window...Each Window has a Title Bar. The Title Bar is like a suitcase handle: this is how you can pick up a window and move it. Bring the cursor to the blue part of the Title bar, between all of the buttons and words. Click and hold the left mouse button down. Now, you can move the whole Window around the screen. Don’t worry-you can’t drag it completely off the monitor and lose it. <grin>

Windows have Borders
Bring your cursor to the edge of a Window. The white arrow turns into a black double headed arrow. When you see that, click and hold your left mouse button. You can resize a Windows by dragging the top, bottom, or sides.

Windows have Sizing Buttons.

The red X means exit.

Click the X to close the Window.

The middle square is the Resize button.

Click once-the Window enlarges to fill the whole screen. Click it again and the Window reduces to the size you started with.

The – line means Minimize.

The Window parks on the Status bar by the Start button and waits patiently for you to return. The program isn’t turned off- it is idling.
