The Device
Manager
Drivers are the little bits of software between
the hardware and the operating system. Drivers are written for specific
hardware devices. They are also written for each operating system. The
drivers for Windows 98 will NOT work with Vista!
Windows 2000, XP and Vista use signed drivers.
This means that the video drivers have been tested and they are
certified as compatible with Windows.
Try it: Go to Start ->Control Panel
Select Hardware and Sound
Click on the Device
Manager.
Changing drivers can make a machine useless. Windows will
prompt you for permission to use the Device Manager.
