Sandbox: History of the Mouse  Page 1 2 3

Left and Right Mouse

Unlike the MAC, Windows uses both the Left and the Right mouse buttons. The Left mouse button is used to take action: open, close, click. The Right mouse button offers a small list of options. The options are specific to whatever you are right-clicking.

Right Click Options

Everything in a computer has a Left and a Right mouse click. Most Right-click menus include Properties. The Administrator works with Properties.

As you work through this course, notice how many commands are available through the mouse. It's kind of amazing, isn't it?

That’s all from the Sandbox...where only the latest and greatest survive!

Left means action:
Select, open, and move.

Right means options:
A short list of choices.
