A
Brief History of Mice
A mouse, a
mouse! My kingdom for a mouse!
Where would personal computers be without a mouse?
And where did the mouse come from?
Xerox corporation built a research facility at Palo Alto in 1970. It was
this team that developed that Graphical User Interface or GUI for short.
They pioneered the point and click method of computing.
Apple, and later Microsoft (in 1982), used the mouse to navigate menus
and icons. Instantly, people who could not, or would not face the
intimidating DOS prompt, were able to open, edit, print and save.
Did you know that the Apple Computer
does not use the right mouse button? Most Mac mice only have
one button.
