Go to Start

Since Windows 95, we’ve gotten used to looking for the Start button in the lower left hand corner. What does Windows Vista have on the Start menu?

There are three parts to the Start menu:

1. What Can You Do?

The left panel in the Start menu shows all of the programs installed on your computer. This is where you will find the Search box.

2. Where Are Your Files?

The right panel shows your Name Folder (eBeth in this illustration), Documents, Pictures and Music.

3. What Can You Control?

Windows Vista controls how you create, save, print and send files over the network. The Control Panel is where you can modify how the documents print and the music plays.
