Intermission
A Microsoft Access
database is more than the tables, forms, queries and reports that you
design. How does the table create an Auto number and distinguish it from
a text field? What makes a query run?
Microsoft Access uses the
Access
Jet Database Engine. This engine is installed when you load the
Microsoft Access software. The
Jet Database Engine reads and saves the
data. The engine also allows users to import and export information into
other programs, such as Microsoft Excel, Lotus 1-2-3, Microsoft Word
mail merges, Paradox and dBase databases.
